Marine Web Site Support The Passing of The Camp Lejeune Justice Act And Details Government Negligence

Saturday, July 9, 2022 - The provisions of the Camp Lejune Justice Act have been approved by the US House of Representatives and the Senate and await the signature of the President of the United States. The bill is being delayed, once again, however, by procedural issues about fundraising within the bill and may not become law for a month or more. Once the bill becomes law, marines, civilian employees, and the families that lived on or near Camp Lejeune will be able to file drinking water lawsuits against the Department of Defense and the Federal Government for covering up what they knew about the drinking water problem.

The extent of the water contamination that may have caused cancer to millions of marines, civilian workers on the base, and their families is beyond exaggeration. One marine-driven website makes it its purpose to examine the details of what happened to the base's drinking water and when. Information coming from studies funded by marine organizations is important as it looks as if the Department of Defense has known about toxic, potentially carcinogenic chemicals being dumped into the local water supply for decades before warning marines. During that time of silence, thousands of stillborn children were born on or near the base to mothers that drank, washed, cooked, or otherwise consumed the contaminated water every day. Other water contamination problems affecting pregnant mothers include an abnormally high number of miscarriages and children born with birth defects. So many children have died at Camp Lejeune of childhood leukemia that the local cemetery has been renamed "children's heaven.”

The website titled The Few, The Proud, The Forgotten has extensively researched the Camp Lejeune drinking water issue and found that three different drinking water systems that supplied the base were contaminated. TFTPTF.com wrote that the Hadnot Point, Tarawa Terrace, and Holcomb Blvd water distribution systems all contain toxic levels of forever chemicals and other contaminants that were either carcinogenic or thought to be so. The Few wrote, "The water provided by the Tarawa Terrace and Hadnot Point distribution systems was highly contaminated with various chemicals, including the VOCs (volatile organic compounds) known as PCE (Tetrachloroethylene aka Perchloroethylene), TCE (Trichloroethylene), DCE (Dichloroethylene), Vinyl Chloride and BTEX (Benzene, Toluene, Ethylbenzene, and Xylene). These chemicals are either known or suspected human carcinogens." The website points out that millions of people affected by the Camp Lejeune water contamination poisoning are unaware that their suffering was caused by drinking the local tap water. That goes for families that lived on or near every military base in the country as they have all been tested and found to have been contaminated. If you or a loved one have developed cancer or has had a child with the disease, you may qualify to file a water contamination lawsuit against the DOJ and the Federal government for failing to provide clean drinking water.
